The family of Thomas John Smolich(1943), of Waukegan, Sadly announces his passing on Sunday April 3rd at approximately 12:30pm CST. Tom was a loving, devoted son, husband, and father. As a TRUE combat veteran of the Vietnam war, Sgt Smolich gave his blood sweat and tears repeatedly, and without hesitation.
Throughout his life Tom gave unselfishly to many, including lifelong support of his beloved Corps, as a lover of animals and mentor to a younger generation through coaching and other life skills teaching. Tom could often be found giving sage advice to those who needed it, teaching proper marksmanship skills to future Marines and sharing memories of a life well lived.
Tom had two very successful careers. He was a consummate technologist starting his post-war life in the computer field working for several Fortune 500 companies at a young age, while unknowingly passing on his talent for... less

Monsaida battled cancer four times and won! But, complications from COVID-19 ultimately took her life, so the family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the healthcare workers who are currently battling this virus and encourage people to learn about the science of how this virus is primarily spread. Most importantly, please wear a mask for the protection of others and out of respect for those who might not survive this virus. less

She was wise, kind, caring and could also be firm when needed. She was always keeping family connections alive by traveling across the country. Bringing news of others, just like the pony express. She even traveled internationally, most recently to Thailand in 2020.
She's taught many lessons to people and was a fantastic soundboard when you needed help. She enjoyed cooking, musicals, movies, pedicures and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
She left behind her son Patrick.
Siblings: Ron, Dave, Fred, Rick, Sue, Tom, Joe and Tim. Countless nieces and nephews.
Please share any lovely stories, photos/videos of her. Her facebook is still active to share memories, thoughts and condolences.
It's time to celebrate her wonderful life less
