He peacefully and without pain passed away on 2nd of November 2019. His last journey. He was a heartful, sensitive, loving, caring and open-minded person. At the same time he had a very strong will and was a rebel and fighter. One of his first passions were trains, everything related to railway – which was a perfect combination for his other passions: travelling to unknown regions and photographing. Many years ago he did the photo-developing himself. Languages : Latin, Ancient Greek, French, English, later on Haussa – elaborated German - was something he loved a lot. When he was young he used to work as a tour-guide to Greece – this was when he discovered Crete, especially magical Paleohora. At the ÖBB (Austrian Railway) he had a very fulfilling career – as train director and coordinator. A peak in his career was when he was project leader in Algeria for the national railway in a huge project – for four years in total. This was when he discovered his love for the desert Sahara and Algeria, Niger, and later on also Mali. Back in Vienna before reaching his 5oies, he started with African studies. Wolfgang was a great cook, a wonderful host, and a loving father and a super-loving grandfather. We will miss him. Sending him eternal love and peace.
The most beautiful farewell I have ever had. And I heard not only for me .... we celebrated you in a wonderful way my dear father 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜
