OBITUARY
Willie greeted passengers with his signature smile and positive spirit.  He was a master conversationalist, connecting with passengers over shared interests (especially football, cars, and racing) and following up on details of our lives, even those mentioned in passing. He genuinely loved interacting with people and often spoke of how much he enjoyed the variety of individuals -including many famous people- he met through his work. ...  see more

Like a lot of people who rode his bus, I always jumped the line and tried to get a front seat so I could catch up with Willie. He knew about my family's moves, the important events in my life, and many of my opinions, and I heard these same kinds of...  more

Willie was the most delightful man. He got to know every Board employee on a first-name basis, greeted us warmly, and was a great conversationalist. My deepest sympathies to his family. This is a huge loss for them and for the Board.

Willie shared in one of my happiest experiences and made it even better. When I got word that my granddaughters were born a few years ago, I left work early to see the new family in the hospital. Willy was driving. As he took me to the metro I had to...  more

Willie, I just saw you a few weeks ago, hard to believe that you are gone. You were like a ray of sunshine on an otherwise dreary day. I enjoyed our many talks over the years, riding the shuttle will not be the same. My deepest condolences to your family.
