Bill was born on December 21, 1951 in Berwyn, Illinois to Helen V. (Wilborn) McCabe and James G. McCabe. He spent his childhood in LaGrange, Illinois with his sisters and brothers; Barbara (McCabe) Fowler, James McCabe, Edward McCabe and Patti (McCabe) Fey. After attending LTHS, Bill began the journey of entrepreneurship by working in the motorcycle business and eventually opening his own motorcycle shop, Willy World in Joliet, Illinois. After over thirty years in business, Bill sold his business and moved to Estero, Florida with his partner, Bronia. Bill and Bronia enjoyed many memories in Estero and made wonderful friends. In the years of Bill’s retirement, he was able to enjoy golf games and times spent laughing with friends. Although Bill had been living with a long-term cancer diagnosis, he had often been described as having a twinkle in his eye when chatting with others and rarely if ever complained about his condition. 

Bill passed peacefully on October 18th, 2020 while in the company of his beloved partner, Bronia. He is survived by his partner, Bronia Hertsberg Bernatsky; son Grant McCabe and daughter Kelly Tofte (Robert) and grandson Arlo Tofte.
