Bruce Wayne Hultquist Jr. passed away suddenly in a tragic vehicle accident on June 14, 2022 at the age of 53.
Wayne was born December 15, 1968, to Bruce and Darlene Brock Hultquist in Freeport, Texas. He was big brother to Wendy and attended schools in Friendswood and Austin prior to relocating with his family to Colorado where he participated in soccer, Little League baseball, football, hockey, and volleyball sports teams, before graduating from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs in 1987.
After moving to Washington, Wayne displayed his excellent work ethic with Bent Bike, The Home Depot and McKinstry in Seattle. He met his future wife – and fellow employee – Sarah Devine at The Home Depot; they were wed in 2006 in Las Vegas before they settled in Frederickson and were blessed with two sons, Gregory and William. At the time of his passing, Wayne was employed with McKinstry.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sarah; sons, Gregory, 15, and William, 13; parents, Bruce and Darlene; sister, Wendy, and her husband, Pele Puatua; cousins who felt like siblings, multiple nieces and nephews; innumerable friends, classmates, extended family, and coworkers who loved him deeply and feel the loss of Wayne while celebrating his wonderful life.
He was preceded in death by grandparents; Mitchel and Edith Powers Hultquist, John and May Seminatore Self, and Edward Brock.
Memorial services will be held June 21 in Puyallup, WA at Hill Funeral Home.
