OBITUARY
I met Trina when we both worked at West Publishing. We were fast friends instantly, and spent much of our time together at work and outside work--hanging out, shopping, theater, dinner etc. When my husband's job took me away from West and to Madison, Trina gave me ALL the info I needed to find the greatest places here--Wild Child for my then toddler's clothes, Ovens of Brittany, places for cocktails, Farmer's Market. Loved those times she'd be here seeing Cookie! And then--O Happy Day--learned she was coming here to the law school. We immediately met for lunch and made plans for more. But as things often go, we both were busy with kids, work, the usual. It got to the point where we'd reach out periodically but timing didn't work out to meet. In 2014, I had a cancer diagnosis and treatment but never shared with her, as it's only something I chose to do in person. Then in 2020 covid shut it all down and we lost touch during these last years. Tonight when I tried to get in touch, I learned my dear, sweet, funny, quirky friend has passed. I'm gutted and feel so much love for her family. But I understand why I am just learning of this. Juggling treatment, unknowns, family and work is overwhelming. I get it. I am so sorry. As I post this through tears I'm remembering all the talks, the walks around Como Lake, the lunches every day in West's cafeteria, our favorite spots on Grand/Summit, Rent and Angels in America at the Ordway, vacay in Sedona, and the last time we saw each other here in Madison. She was special, I loved her like a sister, and she will always be in my head and heart. Peace, Trina, and to all who loved you.
