OBITUARY
Tish Corbett, nee Olive May Tishlarich, a prolific artist from Pittsburgh, PA, died April 16, 2022, in San Rafael, CA, at the age of 98 years old.She grew up in Bellevue, graduating from Bellevue High School in 1941, attended the Margaret Morrison School for Costume Design at Carnegie Tech and art schools in Worcester, MA, New York City and San Francisco, CA.After returning to Pittsburgh she opened her South Side Studio where she... see moreTish Corbett, nee Olive May Tishlarich, a prolific artist from Pittsburgh, PA, died April 16, 2022, in San Rafael, CA, at the age of 98 years old.
She grew up in Bellevue, graduating from Bellevue High School in 1941, attended the Margaret Morrison School for Costume Design at Carnegie Tech and art schools in Worcester, MA, New York City and San Francisco, CA.
After returning to Pittsburgh she opened her South Side Studio where she taught small classes for 25 years, and was on the board of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. She also taught Summer workshops in France from 1991 to 2003, at Schenley High School in 1986 and 1987 and at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts from 1988 to 2002.
For many years she exhibited at the Three River's Art Show and had solo exhibits at the Studio Z Gallery in 1982, the Brew House Gallery, and Birmingham Gallery, in 1983, a 300-painting retrospective at CAPA and also a retrospective at the Mendelson Gallery, both in 2003.
She is survived by her four children, Carol Corbett Ingersoll, Michael Corbett, Amy Corbett, and Molly Corbett Kruse; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
