Mrs. Thomasina Boykin, age 81, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021. She was born October 12, 1939, in Columbia, South Carolina to Lillie Davis and Thomas Adams. She was married to the love of her life, Marion Boykin Sr. for 63 years whom she leaves behind to carry on her torch of light.
Thomasina was graceful, courageous and humble. She will be best remembered for loving anyone under any circumstance. Her affection was extended beyond her family and into her friends and the youth throughout her community as well; they all became her children. She gave selflessly to anyone who was in need. She often showed her love though cooking and it was some of the best meals you had ever tasted! She shared words of wisdom that would get you through tough times.
The light that God showered upon her was like a ray of sunshine to every person she met. In her family she instilled the values of unconditional love and forgiveness. She was strong and nonjudgmental and expected the same behavior from those around. She was also sassy and fierce and taught the ladies how to be ladies. Thomasina rarely complained about anything, and she enjoyed every minute of her life. One thing we know for sure is she loved the Lord. She constantly held her loved ones up in prayer. She embodied the love of God by acknowledging his presence in her life. Through trials and tribulations, up until her last breath she knew only one thing could keep her and that was the Grace of God.
Thomasina is survived by her four sons and their wives: Marion and Antoinette Boykin, Joseph Boykin, Thomas and Nancy Boykin, and Harry and Alberta Boykin.
She will be tremendously missed by her ten Grandchildren, Janet Shaniqua Price, Harry Boykin Jr., Marcus Boykin, Brittany Gary, Brandon Boykin, Devon Gholson, Ashley Boykin, De'Andre Perry, Jalen Boykin, and Lorenz Boykin.
Thomasina was the beloved sister, aunt, cousin, great grandmother, and friend to so many. She loved hard and touched everyone she encountered deeply.
Thomasina Boykin, also known as Mommy, BB, Gma, Mrs. B, and MOM will always be remembered in our hearts and minds as she continues her journey in peace and power.
