Consistent with the vision of their founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
St. Jude’s strives to be the world leader in advancing the treatment and prevention of catastrophic diseases in children, by providing outstanding patient care; conducting basic, translational and clinical research designed to elucidate biological mechanisms, understand disease pathogenesis, improve diagnosis, enhance treatment outcome, prevent diseases and minimize adverse consequences of treatment; and by educating health care and scientific research professionals. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. less

We are devastated to share with you that on June 9, 2021, after a four-year battle with cancer, Thomas C. Murray left the physical world to join his many loved ones who crossed over before him. He is now on the other side living pain-free and guiding those of us left behind as we try to navigate simply breathing without him here. He fought hard and NEVER gave up. We try to pull from the strength he showed us his whole life and especially his strength while battling cancer. In the end, the cancer was stronger.
As hard as it is without him here, we have to remember that if we were fortunate enough to have had him as our friend, our brother, our grandpa, our daddy, or our husband, then we truly are better people just for having known him. His love was unconditional. His work ethic was inspiring. His love for his family is unmatched. Us girls ALWAYS knew how lucky we were and how good we had it. He was fun and funny, and tough as he was, he was a big teddy bear, a softie who loved animals and cried at animated kids movies. Our hearts are in pieces and our hopes are that those pieces will scab over and we’ll continue to put one foot in front of the other and keep fighting. It’s the very least we can do for him as he fought so hard to stay here with us. We love you so much, daddy, and we will never stop missing you.
