Teresa Silai Chow, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. She was born on March 20, 1948 to the late Joseph and Rose Chow in Canton, China. After immigrating to the United States in 1962 with her family, she met and married Raymond Chow in San Francisco. Teresa worked hard to earn her Bachelors in Nursing and Masters in Education Dual Language from the University of San Francisco while mothering three children under the age of five. She worked passionately as a public health nurse, performing home visits to new parents to teach them how to care for newborns. When the family relocated to Oklahoma City, she became a full-time mother to her four children, Kevin, Elaine, Jesse, and Christie while volunteering extensively with the Chinese church. She loved to sing with her choir and work in the garden. She was an avid sudoku player. She eagerly awaited moments to be together with her family: siblings Margaret and Thomas, Raymond and her four children and her four grandchildren Emi, Kenzo, Theo, and Amalia. She was blessed to have many other loving family and friends in her life. Private services are being held with future plans for a larger celebration when we can have larger gatherings again in person. Online condolences can be given at Teresa’s online memorial. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Teresa’s honor may be made to the American Liver Foundation and Our Daily Bread through the Go Fund Me campaigns on the online memorial page as well.
