Teresa Artica (nee Rodriguez) passed peacefully at home surrounded by her children in Winter Park, FL on May 20th, 2019 at the age of 54.
Teresa was born on March 27th, 1965 in Chicago, IL to Esteban and Zaida (Fuentes) Rodriguez. She married Antonio Artica in 1985. They moved to Orlando, FL where she was a homemaker and Mother to their three children. She graduated from Massage school in 2009 with a focus on Reflexology and this became her passion. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, driven, and loving Mother, who encouraged them to pursue their goals, and above all else, to put family first.
Teresa was a master at juggling jobs and responsibilities. Over the course of her life, she showed generosity and dedication to the people and things she loved. Never one to back down from a challenge, she used her children as inspiration to not only achieve multiple lofty goals, but to far surpass anyone’s expectations. She was a devoted mother, who transformed her house into a place for constant learning and growth for her children. She was a loyal friend who made sure that those she cared about were taken care of before she took care of herself. Most of all, however, she was steadfast in keeping her extended family in touch and together, overcoming space and distance for the betterment of all.
Teresa is survived by her Mother, Zaida Romero (Gilberto) of Des Plaines, IL and her ex-husband, Tony Artica (Evelyn) of Orlando, FL; children, Anthony Artica (Weronika), Steven Artica and his girlfriend, Lauri Olortegui, Vanessa artica and her boyfriend, Javier Toro all of Orlando, FL; brother, Gilbert Romero (Debbie) of Des Plaines, IL; her Aunt, Irma Zayas-Bazan of Orland Park, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers, far too many to count. She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandmother, Esperanza Fuentes, and her Father, Esteban Rodriguez.
Cremation has taken place. A private service is scheduled.
