First of all please forgive me for any unwanted intrusion I may cause during this time of grief. I am not a crank but wanted to offer you my condolences for your Mum, Teresa.
I’m from Hemel Hempstead, England where I still live and I once took your Mum to the local Odeon Cinema when we were about 18/19 years. It was a date organised between your Aunt Debbie and my brother, Martyn who were attending Grove Hill School Hemel Hempstead.
I knew of your Mum and Debbie as I used to catch a bus with another brother of mine at the top of Hollybush Lane, Warners End, Hemel Hempstead. This was about 1970/71. Your Mum and Debbie would also wait at the bus stop for the bus to go to Grove Hill. I went to a different Hemel Hempstead School -Longdean. I never spoke to them at the time as I was a very shy 14 year old.
Although I didn’t really know your mother, I have a fond memory of someone who had a gentle personality and very aware of the local environment and nature. It was clear to me on that one night date that she was much greater my intellectual and she was “out of my league” and although we never met again I always have the lasting memory of her waving and smiling to me as she got the bus back to Hollybush Lane as I waited for a different bus at the Hemel Pavilion bus stop. Clearly testimony to her human kindness or possibly pity for me. I like to think it was the former.
I’ve thought long and hard whether to send this memory to you as it was a long time ago and very insignificant. I sincerely hope that I haven’t caused any offence and once again offer you all my condolences. less
