Sandro Carrasco was one of the first students in the first class I taught at the Harbor School, where I was a first year teacher. Alex was a natural at math, and I remember him sharing his goal of becoming an architect. But he would never hand in his math work! When I would chase him for the work, Alex would say with his handsome smile, "You know I know it" - which he did. I was proud to learn about his accomplishments through Facebook. When I learned that he had become an architect, I remember feeling, "Wow, he did it", and it was no surprise. Some time after he graduated from Harbor, he shared his memory of me telling him that his smile would only get him so far; he has to work for what he wants. We left positive seeds in each other because I also learned from him - the importance of a smile and to live a life that inspires comraderie and love. Love and light to all his friends and family in and outside of the Harbor School. Love, Shirley
