Living in such close proximity to each other we had the opportunity to see each other several times a week (unless she was traveling to some far off exotic land). Morning walks enabled us to share just about every aspect of our lives and in true sisterhood we became each other's confidantes, helping the other one to problem solve and consider other perspectives we would not have normally have been able to do on our own. Over the years we were able to enjoy many mutually enjoyable activities, "dumpster diving," being one of the many. A true "sister in recycling." it wasn't unusual for Sandi and I to make "adjustments" to the recycling bins left out by neighbors every Tuesday morning. Sometimes we would help the other one lug home some ridiculously heavy item that we just HAD to have that was abandoned at the curb. Sandi was a true kindred spirit in helping to make the world a better place in which to inhabit and she spent much of her retirement doing just that with her devotion to climate change, amongst other worthy causes. Sandi's passing has left a hole in my heart that will never be filled. Sandra Joy, you brought so much joy to my life and I will never forget you, my friend. I will love you forever.
