I just wanted to add a few more old family photos of dad having fun as some of said you didn't have any photos with him. I particularly love the one where he's holding a huge crab!

You must have been the best percussionist the Shrewton Silver band ever had, I am sure.
I don't think there can be a better picture of us than the pic of us crouching down deep in concentration when I was teeny and I couldn't not add a photo of us with the bond bug - I thought that was the best car ever!
Rest in peace dad. less
We fondly remember the time you lived with us, we will always keep talking about you as you deserve to be remembered for your humour and kindness. Rest in peace

You never quite knew what was going to happen next with him! less

We all used to go on holiday together and that’s what I remember. On holiday Rolz would snack on stuff 24/7 (without putting on any weight!) In Scotland one day he’d bought himself a family size pork pie and when he’d eaten half of it he said it tasted funny. We looked at it and the gelatine was all a vivid green with mould. But didn’t make him ill! Another time we went to Teignmouth in a bargain priced flat. It reeked of a mixture of damp and fag smoke, your feet stuck to the carpets etc, but it was cheap so that was ok. Just before we went home Rolz found an inventory listing all the contents and warning about charges for breakages or stealing them. The light shades were like polythene tubes which had somehow gone greasy so that all the fluff and grot stuck to them, and Rolz wanted to steal one just to wind the owners up. I persuaded him it wasn’t worth the aggro, but with hindsight I wish we had. Rest in peace mate. less
Like a shadow in the moonlight
Like the whisper of the seas
Like the echoes of a melody
Just beyond our reach
In the shadow of our sorrow
Past the whisper of goodbye
Love shines through eternity
A heartbeat from our eye

Not just to look at, but he was unapologetically himself and I think I learned by example to dress however I want and do what I like without worrying what anyone else thinks. He passed on his love of crazy shirts, his love of a good drum beat and his penchent for ridiculous pet names (shout out to Billy Basket the cockerel and Jemima T Rubble the tarantula). I'll remember him how he was when I was little, driving around in his 3 wheeler, taking us on adventures to meet gypsies with shire horses or dressing us up in togas and teaching us to play the bongos. less
