Rosenberg- Ronnie Eugene Kyles, age 72 of Rosenberg Tx, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2020. Ron was born on November 22, 1947, and grew up in Texarkana, Texas. He was the second born of 5 children of Lawton and Estelle Kyles. His family owned a dairy farm where Ron learned hard work by the age of 5, milking cows before school. At the age of 7, he gave his heart to Jesus through the bus ministry of a local baptist church where they would pick him and his brother up for Sunday Services. Ron faced many challenges growing up, but he never changed his resolve to work hard. As a left-handed writer, he was told to conform and change, but he never quit, always giving his best. He ran track and played bass (left-handed of course!) in a band called "trouble minds”. He was easy going and had a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger. After he graduated from high school, on December 5, 1967, Ron enlisted in the air force during the Vietnam War. His character and excellence allowed him to rise quickly through the ranks and become a staff sergeant in the military police. After completing his tour of duty on December 3, 1971, he was honorably discharged, and he began working for his uncle Wayne Jones who owned a chain of restaurants called Catfish Kitchen. This is where his love of seafood and entrepreneurship began. Once again, Ron's work ethic was unmatched. Ron was determined to make a better life for himself and his family. He worked to learn every aspect of the seafood business and would one day use that knowledge to branch out on his own. 

At the beginning of his restaurant career, a man Ron befriended asked if he had any job openings for his daughter. Ron being the kindest man gave the young lady a job as a waitress at his restaurant, and that is how he met and finally married his wife of 46 years, Debie. Ron opened his first BBQ restaurant while Debie was pregnant with the twins, at which time, they were unaware that they were having twins until two weeks before they were born. That's because the twins had the same heartbeat; therefore, the doctors had told them that they were having one big girl. What a sweet surprise! Now they had a total of four children, and each one of those children captured a piece of his heart and further motivated him to work as hard as possible to give them the best opportunity to succeed in their lives. Ron and Debie moved back to their hometown in the golden triangle area, where they attended and served Triumph Church for more than 30 years where his love for God, people, and food all came together. It was there he learned to use his talent and passion for food to serve God and bless people. 

He had a unique ability to create a vision around a delectable menu that could match anything produced by any well-known, famed chef. Everyone always looked forward to his cooking, whether BBQ crabs, shrimp, orange roughy with a Pontchartrain sauce, or his many other tasty entrees. He created all of his own seasonings, sauces, and recipes from scratch. Many people would say his recipes were divinely inspired. Ron owned and operated multiple restaurants throughout his career, with his ultimate dream restaurant being The Pleasure Island Restaurant on Pleasure Island pier in Port Arthur 

Ron selflessly supported his wife Debie’s desire to go back to school to pursue a career in counseling where she would eventually graduate from the University of Houston with a master's degree in social work. Without his love and support, this dream would never have become a reality. 

Ron loved watching his children grow up and become mighty men and women of God. His children learned his work ethic and entrepreneurial gifts by working alongside him at the restaurants. In 2005, Ron and Debie chose to play a more significant role in their first three grandchildren's lives by raising them. His family gave him the greatest pleasure. He was always willing to serve them in any capacity that they needed. He created menus and catered for each of his children's weddings. Even as they grew into their own families, Ron was always willing to serve and support his children; however, he could. He especially loved cooking at all family holiday meals and birthdays no matter the requests anywhere between sautéed mushrooms in a brandy reduction sauce or just some plain ole hotdogs over a charcoal flame. As Steve launched his business, he always knew he could count on his Dad to provide the most opulent Christmas dinners to bless his staff. When Jimn launched his church, his Dad was part of his leadership team, willing to cook for the dream team, and make coffee on Sunday mornings for the people who came to church. 

Ron was a kind man who showered love to everyone he met. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone he met feel special and loved, regardless of their status in life. He passionately loved Jesus and could often be found listening to his audio bible, spending time in the word. No doubt, he entered into eternity met by Jesus hearing "well done, my good and faithful servant."

Ronnie is survived by his three sons, Ron Kyles Jr, Jimn Kyles, & wife Phyllis, Steve Kyles & wife Stephanie, ten grandchildren, his two sisters, Diane Houk, Linda Prude-Home. He is preceded in death by his firstborn daughter, Tiina Kyles, his parents, three brothers: Charles Robert, Michael Wayne, & Jerry Walter.

A celebration of life with full military honors will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 6, 2020, at the Fort Bend Dream Center at 4100 Ave N, Rosenberg, Tx 77471. Doors open at 10 am. Please NOTE that the EVENT is CENTRAL TIME ZONE and not eastern as originally defaulted.
