Rebecca Anne Fayette passed away on April 21, 2020 at her home in Hartford, Connecticut. She was born in Buffalo, New York, on January 27, 1960. Rebecca was pre-deceased by her lifelong friend Daniel Martin of Suffield, Connecticut, and her mother, Jadwiga Swist Fayette of Buffalo, and co-deceased with her father, Laurence Fayette also of Hartford. Rebecca leaves a younger sister, Therese Dillon and her husband Eugene Dillon of Milford, Connecticut, and a younger sister Dawn Fayette of Plainfield, Connecticut, a niece Stephanie Dillon of Beverly, Massachusetts, and a nephew, Garrett Dillon of New Haven, Connecticut.
Rebecca was a quiet and sweet spirit and will be sorely missed by her family. She loved children and animals, was an avid reader, and loved her niece and nephew. She knew a good deal about American antiques and architecture and enjoyed the historic aspects of the city of Hartford. A graduate of Hartford Public High School, Rebecca attended Greater Hartford Community College where she studied accounting. She worked as a clerk typist for the Aetna Life & Casualty Company in the early 1980s, moving on to a similar position with the State of Connecticut, then working for the Treasury Department as a Senior Payroll Clerk until 1989. Rebecca owned and managed several rental properties in Hartford through the 1990s. In recent years she was a caretaker for her father.
Rebecca will be interred privately as soon as social distancing will allow. In lieu of flowers or other gestures, please support mental health awareness initiatives in your community.
