I have many fond memories of working with him on the Board at the Golden Gate Railroad Museum on various projects and later when DRB did all of my marketing materials and collateral for Rail Journeys West and our private railroad cars. His enthusiasm, gentle and calmness, professionalism all combined with his passion for history and railroading were so very much appreciated. My thoughts and prayers are with you Dee and all the family in this time of loss. With sincere sympathy, Roy Wullich, Quinton, VA. less

What I will remember most about Ray is how much he loved his family and JESUS.
I can only imagine the joy he has being in the presence of the LORD.

Ray and I traveled and visited BSF classes for over 10 years. We had an amazing time of fellowship together. I will never forget his warm smile and his dedication to the Lord Jesus and as well as our close friendship. Tom Recine

For half a dozen years I enjoyed his leadership and friendship in equal doses. We formed a bond, Ray and I, and Dee, too, as graciousness personified. Dignity, integrity and grace, all in high measure. Ray embodied human goodness and kindness in every endeavor. Rest in peace, friend. less

I became Ray's partner in the 1990s because of a mutual friend who knew Ray from Bible Study Fellowship. This friend thought that Ray and I should be business partners and he told us at a lunch meeting much to both Ray and my surprise. Maybe, shock would be better. Ray was not looking for a partner but, after prayer (and some cajoling from our friend, I’m sure) he agreed to begin walking that journey with me. Ray was no business push-over and he set some pretty high financial standards to be met if this partnership was going to have life. By God’s favor and his grace, the standards were met and even exceeded and thus our partnership journey began it journey down the tracks.
Ray and I worked together at DRB Partners for 10 years – two fellows that shared faith but very different approaches to problem solving. Like a marriage, we had to work at it, and I credit Ray’s spiritual majority to making that journey one filled with great memories of learning to work with someone for a common purpose – to glorify God in how we did business. We knew that the CEO was the Lord and we were called to steward the business. Ray as President and Founder took that stewardship seriously and what a model he was of a businessman who committed his business and life to the Lord.
Ray and I took our working together as a spiritual journey, setting aside time each week for the two of us, often sitting in his car or mine during lunch, praying together for the business, for our employees and for our clients. It was that iron sharpening iron that worked as we both dealt with life issues that could have easily distracted us from our walk with the Lord. Ray was a rock – I could be authentic with him. We would wrestle business issues with the Lord.
I learned more than I ever wanted to know about trains with Ray teaching me about being a foamer (a railfan) and Donegan, calliope. I know there’s more terms, but I don’t remember.
I have great memories of the fun we had expanding our business, buying new furniture, painting the office and mentoring people.
You will be missed, Ray, but the memory of your love for the Lord, for Dee and your girls, for your employees and for baseball, for trains will be forever memorialized. If there are trains in heaven, I’m certain you will be working’em. less

Ray and I worked together in the Bible Study Fellowship ministry for several years. I thank God for the special friendship He gave us. Since the first day I met Ray, he took me under his influence and treated me like a true brother in the Lord. I will truly miss my special friend, and look forward to seeing him again in glory. He continues to be blessed and highly favored.
