OBITUARY
Dear fellow Rotarians, we were saddened to hear from Tereza of the passing of her father, PRID Tony Serrano, yesterday morning Thursday 16th July at 6.30am.As well as being a beloved husband and father Tony was a pioneer in Rotary. Dear fellow Rotarians, we were saddened to hear from Tereza of the passing of her father, PRID Tony Serrano, yesterday morning Thursday 16th July at 6.30am.
As well as being a beloved husband and father Tony was a pioneer in Rotary. He served as RID, leading the way – not only for our District, but for Africa. His passion for Rotary had no boundaries and he dedicated his life to doing good in the world. He was a stalwart and charter member of the RC of Bedfordview.
He has experienced increasing health issues the past few years, and they have taken their final toll. He died at home calmly and peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. May he now rest in peace.
There will be a private service at home (family only).
Once circumstances permit there will be a memorial service, details of which will be shared to allow all his Rotary friends and colleagues to celebrate his life. He will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, philanthropist and dedicated Rotarian.
Tony was truly dedicated to the cause of Rotary. His contribution to the eradication of polio on the African continent was quite significant. He will surely be remembered with much admiration and gratitude.

PRID Tony was a dedicated, inspirational gentleman who adored his family and Rotary.
We had many chats and teas and I always admired his tenacity. God now has a new angel in heaven. Condolences to the family.

I first met Tony when he came to Ndola, Zambia, for a Rotary event. His passion for Rotary was contagious.

For those of us honoured to have served beyond District level in Rotary, the name Tony Serrano was synonymous with service, kindness and integrity across Africa. I lost a friend. His wisdom and counsel will be missed. less
