Our flat was in Nove Mesto (new town) overlooking the Vltava River. The elevator was tiny! Downstairs in our building was the Riviera Cafe, the 3rd cafe built on the riverbank in 1905. During the socialist era, our building also held the seat of the German Democratic Republic Embassy. The view of Prague Castle was beautiful rain or shine and especially at sunset.
