Over the years, Paul touched many people in the pursuit of varied interests and earnest love of conversation, ideas and other people. His out-going nature and sense of humor brought out the best of everyone around him. Paul was truly a servant to others; an expression of his love of God.  

A Marine, pilot, crop-duster, policeman and entrepreneur, his enthusiasm remained unwavering no matter what task lie before him.

A tireless member of Forest Hills Evangelical Free Church, he spent countless hours visiting fellow parishioners in the hospital, at their homes, ushering at services and coordinating funerals. 

His love of butter was also unparalleled.

A native Californian, his affection for surfing and the Pacific Ocean never waned.  One of his favorite recent memories was   returning to his childhood home in Glendale, spending an afternoon with Salli and Amanda listening to records and drinking beer with its current occupants. While on that trip, he reconnected with a baseball buddy from high school, Lou Fiore, and they have remained in touch since.

Shortly after his trip to California, Paul had the first of two surgeries to repair a dissected aorta. He recovered from this operation and returned to enjoying life with his familiar fervor. 

Early this year, Paul underwent a second surgery to further repair his aorta, however, complications following this surgery left him paralyzed from the waist down. Over the next 7 months he remained quarantined from his family, recovering and rehabilitating. During this challenging time, he never lost his reliance on God to get him and his loved ones through this difficult time.

Paul returned home on July 23rd to great joy and relief from his wife, family, friends and the community of his church. Members of the church helped celebrate and welcomed him with a socially distanced drive-by parade at his home.

Unfortunately, his time back home was cut short. He returned to the hospital in mid-August, diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. 

Paul passed away peacefully on Monday September 14th with his adoring wife of 47 years, Salli, precious daughters, Jill & Amanda, and dearly loved sons-in-law, Justin and Brian, at his side.  

Paul is now in the everlasting arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.  Until we see him again, he will be greatly missed.
