OBITUARY

Patricia Carol Cannon, age 62, passed away at her home in Black Canyon City on June 30, 2020 after enduring cancer and chronic illness for some time. Patti was born in Yuma, Arizona on November 23, 1957 to Zola Faye and Richard Ray. She was brought home from the hospital to her three sisters and big brother in Gadsden. Patti was born in Yuma, Arizona on November 23, 1957 to Zola Faye and Richard Ray. She was brought home from the hospital to her three sisters and big brother in Gadsden. Patti was a daddy’s girl from the start and was carried everywhere in her father’s arms. She was also an expert pouter and took full advantage of her role as the youngest. Like a true Arizona native, Patti attended school in multiple towns as the family moved around the state. She graduated from Casa Grande High School and worked as a bookkeeper in a grocery store. Casa Grande became home and was where she started a family. After spending some time as a homemaker and a vet tech, she returned to work full time as a commercial truck driver in Phoenix. Her favorite jeans to wear were men’s Wranglers, and she held her own with the boys just fine. She eventually returned to grocery retail work and spent some time as a front end manager. She was a hard worker, but it was her kindness and humor that brought joy to people in all walks of life. Patti loved spending time under the hot Arizona sun at the lake or in the pool. She also enjoyed weekend trips to Rocky Point, horseback riding, and singing country music under her breath while cruising in the car. She was easy to talk to, and the long conversations she shared with friends and family were some of her favorite times. As her mother aged, they became close companions. Patti watched over her until she passed in 2012. The two of them were often found together sitting on the porch, teasing anyone else who joined and laughing about life’s little joys. Patti is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Cannon; siblings: David Driskell (Ina, deceased), Darlene Sellers (Curtis Smeby), Diane Amavisca (Willie), and Betty Kipena (Stanley); daughters: Michelle Lundell, Melissa Robinson (Chris); daughter from a different mother, Vanessa Cannon (Pete); grandchildren: Nick, Justin, Alysson, Mackenzie, Luke, and Logan Patrick who carries on her name. She is also remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and former husband Mike Lundell. She is missed most of all by her fur baby K.C., who stayed by her side until the end. A memorial service will be held in the near future when it is safe to gather. There is no need for financial donations or gifts at this time.
