OBITUARY

Sir Patrick Nwaokolo-Oba also know as Ikolobia Ibusa and Mr. PAN was the fourth son of his father and second son of his mother . He was born September 16th 1954 to Mr. William Nwaokolo-Oba and Mrs. Elizabeth Nwaokolo-Oba née Okafor. He was born and raised in Nkpanyala, Ibusa Delta State. He was born September 16th 1954 to Mr. William Nwaokolo-Oba and Mrs. Elizabeth Nwaokolo-Oba née Okafor. He was born and raised in Nkpanyala, Ibusa Delta State. He completed his primary school education at Anioboshi primary school while living with his uncle Sergeant Paul Monyei.
He went to secondary school in Saint Colombus in Agbor where he excelled both academically and socially. After completing his secondary school, he was awarded scholarship to atty university in the United States. In 1976 he left for the United States. He attended Alabama A&M where he received his Bachelor and Masters in Business Management. In 1983 he came back to Nigeria to complete his NCE. In 1990 he went back to the United States after the death of his first wife. In 1991 he met and married Mrs. Rositta Nwaokolo née Edoga. They had four children
Patrick was a business man. He was a hard working man. While working for a company, he also had his own building maintenance business.

It is with both love and sorrow that we share the passing of Patrick Amanna Nwaokolo-Oba. He found peace in his Ibusa estate on December 19, 2020.

In an air of transparency, it is well known that Patrick had quite the tough exterior. He move through life with an endurance that was just immovable and unmistakable. With that strength, came a myriad of accomplishments and accolades. He was able to find passage to the United States through schooling, and his journey with education was a tough one as well. It is with that unwavering resilience that he was able to attain dual degrees. With continued focus, he found love and raised a family. At times, though, his immense determination worked to his detriment. And yet, with the fire in his belly he was able to make it out of not one, but two intense spinal surgeries. These, however, still did not slow him down. Patrick had a will was hard to kill. And that is why his untimely death came as a shock to the communities in which he belonged to. His family had a long running joke that he would outlive all of them, making this moment so surreal. In all honesty, it’s likely that his tenacious soul is still moving, motivating all of us.

In fleeting moments, we were also able to witness his relaxed state. It was always painted with joy, love, and especially laughter. The vibrations from his enormous laugh could be felt from across a party hall. In these moments, his presence was indeed felt and without a doubt heard.

He also provided constant support for others. He aided many fellow Nigerians in their journey to the states, so that they too could be afforded opportunities to chase their own childhood dreams. In his memory, we invite you all to support him and his family through the burial process.

The Nwaokolo’s express their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of love through calls, texts, and donations during this difficult time.
