Nancy Weyler, 80, passed peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020 with family members close by. She is now in the arms of her beloved parents.
Born in Chicago in 1940, Nancy grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, majoring in French and Art History. At 18, at a winter toboggan party, she met her future husband, Walter, who noticed she was freezing and gave her his jacket. This was the beginning of a 62-year loving partnership.
Nancy also shared her passions for the arts, languages and travel. She and Walter went on many trips to Europe, Asia, Canada and all over the U.S. One of their favorite destinations was Broadway, where they enjoyed many award-winning plays. Family ski trips were another favorite of Nancy's, as they brought everyone together, even after their children started homes of their own. And when her first grandchild was born, Nancy, now nicknamed "Nama," resumed her favorite role as caregiver.
Nancy was a sophisticated lady with a love of life, adventure, music, art, friends and family. As daughter, girlfriend, best-life friend, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, Nancy touched her family and friends with love and joy……she is missed tremendously.
A Private Celebration of Nancy's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation in her honor to the Oregon Symphony.
