Molly B. Zalanskas, age 71, of Wetmore, died early Tuesday morning, August 17, 2021 in Rochester, Minnesota following a lengthy illness. Molly was born in Escanaba on June 1, 1950 in to the loving family of David and Esther (Belfry) Flynn. As a young girl, the Flynn family moved to Munising and Molly graduated from Sacred Heart School and then Wm. G. Mather High School in 1968. She attended Michigan Technological University where she met Robert V. Zalanskas. Molly and Bob were married at Sacred Heart Church in Munising on September 13, 1969. Bob’s employment took them to Massachusetts where they raised their two children. Molly worked for Computer Vision. In 2001, they moved back to Alger County. Bob and Molly enjoyed spending their days working on their home and gardening. Molly also enjoyed working on puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty-one years – Bob Zalanskas of Wetmore; their son – Joseph Zalanskas of Michigan; their daughter – Jennifer (Brian) McGuane of Leominster, MA; grandchildren – David, Connor, Colleen, and Taylor; sisters – Nancy Morrison of Rochester, MN and Colleen Cyrus of Colorado; brothers – Dan (Kitty) Flynn of Munising and Tim (Gail) Flynn of Moline, IL; brother-in-law – Carmen DelBoccio of Wheeling, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Molly was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Mary, sisters Pat LaFleur, Geri DelBoccio, Penny Sims, and Connie Stickling, and brothers-in-law Jay LaFleur, Jeff Cyrus, and Ron Sims.
