Michael Venti Jr., known to family and friends alike as “Uncle Mike,” peacefully passed away on June 10, 2020 from pancreatic cancer. Mike was born in 1955 to Michael and Johana (Santi) Venti. He is survived by his wife Janet (Hester) of 26 years, daughter Melissa & husband Brian Morrison, sister Christine & husband Kevin Ford, niece Jessica & husband Michael Collins, niece Christine & husband David Thompson, nephew Michael Ford, niece Elizabeth & husband Bobby Casey, along with many grand-nieces & grand-nephews. A life-long resident of Saugus and son of the family who owned and operated the Central Variety Store on Central Street, he graduated SHS class of ‘73. Mike went on to attend Lowell Technical Institute followed by a career at Hewlett Packard as an electronics engineer for over 20 years. He then managed courier services at Laboratory for Clinical Medicine. All who knew him would say he had a quirky zest for life and a love for family. Mike was a creative, resourceful, and kind man who loved to repair, renovate and restore. He always made time to help others, especially family, neighbors and friends. He improved the lives of everyone lucky enough to have known him. He spoke fondly of his CVG friends, Seattle family and yearly camping trips to the Cape.
