Martin "Timothy" O'Mara, father, friend and staple in the South Florida punk scene has passed at the age of 50.
Born in Boynton Beach and growing up in Jupiter, he latched onto what would become his greatest passion, music. Since the early '80s, Tim was immersed in the scene and throughout the years helped to support and grow it not only with his bands The Disturbance, The Ruins and Speedbag but later, by booking local and national acts. Sharing in his passion were lifelong friends Rob Rampy, Jonathan Beasley, Carmen Kunze and Dan Hudson.
Tim was at his best with Diane and while spending time with his kids as they were growing up; snorkeling and fishing at DuBois, playing with his Huskies, taking Meagan on car rides in the Mercury Comet. He was an accomplished floor installer and loved working on his home and having the kids help him. When it came to family and friends, devotion ran deep and Tim was always there to help those he knew.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Martin O'Mara. He is survived by his mother Irene Massie O'Mara, former wife Diane O'Mara, son Riley O'Mara, 21, daughters Meagan O'Mara, 18, Kaylynn Mulligan, 21 and granddaughter Rebecca Allen, 6.
