The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. We value inclusivity, community, accountability, agility, and integrity. Our commitment to transparency, research, and diversity and inclusion helps to fulfill our vision: a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
In 2021, the Alzheimer's Association invested over $70 million in research, launched two new campaigns "Any Given Moment" and "More Time", and strengthened partnerships with faith-based communities. The Alzheimer's Association's powerful advocacy witnessed the Improving HOPE for Alzheimer's Act signed into law through the Association's leadership. At the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's participants walked in small groups in their neighborhoods to raise $86 million. less

Martin "Marty" Burkowsky of Boynton Beach, Florida (but really from Brooklyn, New York) died peacefully on December 15, 2020 At the age of 83. Mr. Burkowsky was predeceased by his beloved wife Sybil Rochelle in 2016 and by his daughter Stacey Beth in 2014. He is survived by his sons, Mitchell, Allen, and Adam, his daughter-in-law, Avery (who he held close to his heart), and his grandchildren Alex, Michael, Kacie, and Myles. Nobody could love his grandchildren more than Marty.
Mr. Burkowsky was dedicated to his family, and provided us with an environment filled with love, stability, and guidance. He always emphasized the importance of education, achievement, and character. We miss his caring advice, support, good humor, ability to fix anything, and his cooking. We even miss some of his stories. His legacy will most definitely live on as we find ourselves passing on his wisdom to the next generation.
