Mark Anthony Fleshner, Sr., was a former U. S. Marine serving in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. 

In his youth he worked for Houma Food Service out of Houma, Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico, feeding derrick employees serving as roughnecks for big oil companies on platforms drilling for oil.

He & his wife, Rhonda Clark (deceased) raised 3 children, Melissa Ann Fleshner, Mark Anthony Fleshner, & (Officer) Adam Reid Fleshner (deceased).  

Mark died on the day of his brother, Reuel Gary Grierson's funeral.

He leaves behind 3 siblings, David Alan Grierson, James Paul Grierson, a sister Denise Ann Bradford.  He also leaves behind two children, Mark, Melissa, & their children, Gage, & --Lexi, & Tyler, & finally --Emilee, Adam's daughter.

He was the son of Joyce nee Plumier (deceased) & Randall Dean Lower, both of Shelbyville, Shelby County Illinois.

His cremated remains were scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
