Margaret “Jean” (Yoder) Baker, 80, of Columbiana, OH, went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2020. She passed peacefully at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, with family at her side.
Jean was born on September 13, 1940 in Alliance, OH to the late, Merle and Martha Yoder. After graduation from Columbiana High School, she attended the nursing school at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH, where she obtained her registered nurse licensure. Jean had a successful 41-year nursing career at Salem Community Hospital in Ohio and Cape Coral Hospital in Florida. She served in several departments at each hospital, including emergency medicine, intensive care, and addiction treatment.
After retiring from Salem Community Hospital in 2001, she enjoyed spending time at the beach, volunteering for the church and other community groups, crocheting and sewing blankets, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for helping people, following politics, listening to the Bee Gees and Doo-wop music, working crossword puzzles, and tirelessly cheering for the Cleveland Browns.
Jean had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Greenford Christian Church in Greenford, OH.
