OBITUARY
Makenna gave the best hugs and smiles to anyone who needed one. She would sit on anyone's lap and just listen to them talk to her or with others. She loved school, going to therapy at Pediatric Therapy Network and attending Sonbeams- Sunday School at Rolling Hills Covenant Church. Makenna's version of Christmas was Camp Escapade(summer camp for special needs children). Makenna had Cockayne Syndrome type 1 and she lost her battle... see more
Makenna gave the best hugs and smiles to anyone who needed one. She would sit on anyone's lap and just listen to them talk to her or with others. She loved school, going to therapy at Pediatric Therapy Network and attending Sonbeams- Sunday School at Rolling Hills Covenant Church. Makenna's version of Christmas was Camp Escapade(summer camp for special needs children). Makenna had Cockayne Syndrome type 1 and she lost her battle with CS early December 2020. We will miss her but know she is free from pain and disabilities.
Makenna's celebration of life was beautifully done! I wish I could have joined in the live celebration. Every time I would see Makenna she always had a radiant smile on her face. While, I am saddened to hear of her passing, Makenna has emerged into her angelic body and she’s now playing with Brooke in heaven free of boundaries.
Makenna will be remembered by her schoolmates and teachers for her determination and sense of humor. She was always observant of all that went on around her...even a misstep by her teacher.

The entire school community will also always remember how Makenna was sent to just the right family: from grandparents to mom and dad to brother and sister. Each one did all they could to make the hard seem easy.
