Brief Life Story of Mrs Agnes Asiedu-Ntow

Mrs Agnes Asiedu-Ntow aka Miss Agnes Korkey Ocloo, was born on Friday, 25^th October, 1939 at Big Ada. Her parents were the late Charles Benjamin Ocloo of Srogbey and late madam Charlotte Afimah Adjonyo of Big Ada. She had two senior brothers and two senior sisters. Mrs Asiedu-Ntow had a modest elementary school education, completing at the Ada Presbyterian Girls School in 1957.

Soon after completing elementary education she was employed as a Pupil Teacher and taught in a few Primary Schools in the Ada Education District till July 1978 when she had the chance to accompany her husband Mr. Asiedu-Ntow of the Information Services Department on two tours of duty overseas, first to the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1978-1983) and thereafter to the United Kingdom (1990-97).

While in the UK, she worked as a Home Care Worker with the London Borough of Harrow and gained impressive experiences in looking after the aged and the frail within the society. Unfortunately, she took an early retirement due to severe arthritis and other medical conditions which compelled the husband to relocate with her back to Ghana in February, 2018.

During her time in Ghana, Agnes had moments of extreme joy with finally being home after so many years and re-connecting with family but also her ailments limited her movements. She never recovered from the protracted ailments and passed away on February 8^th, 2021.

In summary, Agnes was a self-made woman who worked hard to achieve great things in her life. She is survived by her husband – George Asiedu-Ntow, Her two daughters Valerie Emmanuel and Olivia Asiedu-Ntow.
