OBITUARY
Lemuel Merle Bottoms passed away on April 11, 2019 in Baton Rouge, Louisianna. Lem was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 10, 1930, and the family moved to Texas City during the depression to find work. (An interesting fact is that Lem was a high school student when the Texas City disaster happened. Lem served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean conflict as a drill seargent. He attended the University of Houston, where he received a double degree in architecture and fine art. He practiced architecture in Houston - notably at 3D International, in Boston at The Architects Collaberative, and in California with Toyota Corporation. He designed and project managed architecture all over the world including the mid-east and Hawaii where he had the opportunity to build his dream project - a corporate retreat for Toyota.
He returned to his old stomping grounds to retire in League City and spent his last active years substitute teaching, directing rennovations at his condo developement on Clear Creek, and enjoying time with his family and his dogs. He relocated along with his wife Marjory to Baton Rouge in 2012, where he spent his last years close to daughter Clare and her family.
Lem is preceeded in death by; his wife - Marjory Hall Bottoms, his parents - Presely Luster, and Geraldine Bottoms, his brothers - Robert, Presley, and Gerald Bottoms.
He is survived by; daughters Clare Wilson, with her husband Greg Wilson, Lisa Gamache Rodriguez, and Elinor Gamache, as well as grandchildren - Jennifer and Trae Dupre, Nic and Martha Wilson, and Isabella Rodriguez, and great-grandchildren, Hallie, Harper and Mattie Dupre, and Evelyn Wilson.
