May 13, 2021, our beautiful mother, Lee Nora Frederick, went home to be with the
Lord. Words cannot express our sadness or how much we will miss her. She was a
woman of great kindness and love. We grow confidence in knowing she's truly where
her heart has always wanted to be. Over the years our mother has touched so many
lives, cared for so many children, prayed for so many people, and encouraged so many
families.
This last year, covid has really challenged us all. As such, our family has chosen to not
have a memorial at this time. We will honor our mother at a later date. In the interim,
we would like to ask all of you to take a moment to share with us about what our mother meant to you.
Please feel free to post messages and photos here. If you prefer to send something in the mail, send us your cards, post cards, notes, trinkets, gifts, and keepsakes and we will open them together and keep them as a go to when we need a boost of encouragement.

She left this world suddenly on May 13, 2021 at the age of 68.
She was born to Leroy and Florence Payne on December 19, 1952 in Saint Petersburg, FL. After graduating Seacrest High School, Lee Nora chased down her dream to be a respiratory therapist at Bethesda Memorial Hospital. She also served as a choir director at Bible Church of God in Boynton Beach, FL. She was a loving wife and mother for many years and for part of this time lived in California. After returning to Florida, she moved into a career of teaching for 25 years (Seacrest Christian School and Lake Worth Christian). Lee Nora had three children: James, Jonathan, and Jamora. She loved her grandchildren: Cameron, Jonathan Jr., and Jordan.
Lee Nora was a faithful member at Maranatha Bible Church in Lantana, FL for many years and taught Sunday School regularly. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice and her favorite thing to do was to sing old gospel spirituals. Most importantly, Lee Nora Frederick was a prayer warrior. She spent many days on her knees praying for her family, friends, colleagues, and anyone she met that needed the mighty hand of God on their life.
Lee Nora loved teaching preschool and loved her students. She would call the children her "sweet pineapples". She was passionate about the children and she believed in the importance of molding young lives in the direction of our Savior.
Lee Nora Frederick will be deeply missed by all. Her favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
No memorial service is scheduled at this time. We will update this page with more information at a later date.
She leaves behind three children: James Frederick Jr [wife: Kim, grandson: Cameron], Jonathan Frederick [grandchildren: Jonathan Jr and Jordan], and Jamora (Frederick) Matthews [husband: Jeremy]. Lee Nora is also survived by three brothers (Dennis Payne, James Payne, and Eric Payne) and two sisters (Lee Girthia Stebbins and Jean Ellison) and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Leroy Payne (December 31, 2007) and mother Florence Payne (April 17, 2021).

I had the incredible pleasure of having Ms. Lee Nora in my life for over 24 years. I was blessed to be her teacher's assistant at school for many years, the best years at Seacrest Christian School. We had so so many moments in all those years, some funny some sad. But I can say that no matter the day or situation, I learned something from her! I thought I knew the Lord, well Boy did he show me by putting this wonderful Angel of a human in my path. Of course I didn't always want to listen and I was quite a brat, but that did not deter Ms. Lee Nora! She became MY prayer warrior!!!
She was an amazing, incredible soul and she will be missed from this earth. Until we meet again my friend. less

A loyal, honest friend who truly loved with the love of Christ. One of the strongest prayer warriors I have ever known. I know there are many living a life of faith because of her witness. My children will attest to that because she was instrumental in their salvation. I know she is happy at home with her Father but we will surely miss her beautiful spirit, smile and singing here. less

Thank you! She would always say…”Son there’s power when you get on your knees to pray” She would tell me she went to the Father daily for her students.

Oh... one more thing...
Anytime she would go anywhere with us, she’d want a small token (maybe a room key from the hotel or a small paper with the event name or info printed on it) to take back home with her for her “Blessing Jar”! She said she would keep the items together so she could look back at them to remember the good times. And she was always writing about the events of the day in her journal! ❤️❤️ less

I wanted to share a story to make us smile and remember some good times. James has done the gasparilla running festival every year since I have known him, and many more before that. In 2017, he invited his mom to join us. She was so excited to cross the finish line! After we were all done, she told stories of the people she had met during the 5k. She really enjoyed the time and made some new friends along the way! ❤️ less

She never failed to remind me that she did change my diapers! She had the most beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She lit up every room that she went into. Whenever I saw her, she would give me the biggest hug. I will forever miss those. Selfishly, I miss her so much here, but find so much peace knowing she is singing and dancing with Jesus. She had the most beautiful soul and I knew that whenever I needed prayer, I could call her. I am grateful for the impact she made on my life and am so sorry for your family’s loss.

You lived your life in the light and spirit of our Lord. You never wavered, when life was difficult, you landed on your knees and always raised your hands to the Glory of God. When you promised us prayers, you always kept that promise. You loved deeply and gave freely. Our world is not the same without your beautiful spirit, but I know you are with Jesus taking care of the little ones while they admire that crown overflowing with jewels.
Lee Nora had such faith that God would provide. One day she had only $5.00 in her wallet. She met an older woman who Lee Nora felt needed the $5.00 more than she did. She gave away her last bit of cash. She knew, without a doubt, that God would provide for her. She got home to find a check in the mail. God had laid it on my heart that my friend needed a little help, but she did not know about that. When she called to tell me that story, she was not boasting about her gracious giving, she was sharing so I could receive the blessing as well. I contemplated that story for a long time. Could I have done that, is my faith strong enough? I thank her for the blessing and the lesson in true faith. This is how she lived her life.
My son struggled with focusing from age 3. We were so blessed to have Lee Nora as his preschool teacher. She wrapped him in love that was so kind and patient. She was so knowledgeable and dedicated to the kids. She was the first one to note the issue with him. She discussed it with me using words of love that put my worries at ease. She continued to love on my boy for 21 more years! As she has with so many of her students. Her big heart filled the classroom and the lives of the kids. She taught them more than just their letters, she taught them how to love each other and God.
I have never met anyone who could pray like Lee Nora. She would include every imaginable detail never forgetting anyone or any need. At times I would have to stop her after 30 minutes, so I could get some water. (LOL) Sometimes she would call just to let me know she was asking God to take care of my needs. Most of the time, I really needed those prayers and somehow, she knew, without words, right when I needed them. She prayed long and hard because she loved so sincerely.
She spent her life serving others which I know filled her soul. Now she can rest in God’s peace. She did his work here with Grace and Excellence. May we continue her story by showing others that same love, grace and honor that she always did. My life was forever changed by her. She continues to make me strive to be a better person. I am forever grateful that God blessed me and my family with Lee Nora, my sister in Christ.
I will see you again my sweet friend. Until then, my memories of your beautiful smile and generous heart will have to do. less

I eventually moved to a new store but I always remembered her kindness. Almost 2 years ago I reconnected with her at my new job. Always kind, gracious, and patient. Each and every time she came in and saw me it was always a compliment she'd give or an item she'd try to buy for me. We'd always talk about her mom, my family, and what was going on. It sadden everyone at my job today to hear about her passing. She lit up our days whenever she came in. While knowing she is right by her mom's side is comforting, I think about all of us she continually comforted while here on earth. I will keep her kids and brother in my prayers during this difficult time. Ms Lee Nora, thank you for being a sunshine in my life. less
