OBITUARY

Laurence Edward Fayette passed away on April 21, 2020 at his home in Hartford, Connecticut where he had lived since 1977. He was born on June 15, 1932 in the town of East Aurora, New York. He was born on June 15, 1932 in the town of East Aurora, New York. "Larry" was pre-deceased by his wife, Jadwiga Swist Fayette of Buffalo, New York, his parents Cecil James Fattey and Bertha Juenker Fattey of East Aurora, his sister Marianne Hart of Rochester, New York, his sister Rosalie Becker of East Aurora, his brother Cecil James Fattey of East Aurora, his sister Marguerite McCarty of Casselberry, Florida, and his brother George Fayett of East Aurora. Laurence is co-deceased with his daughter Rebecca Fayette, also of Hartford, Connecticut. He is survived by his daughter Therese Dillon and her husband Eugene Dillon of Milford, Connecticut, his daughter Dawn Fayette of Plainfield, Connecticut, his granddaughter Stephanie Dillon of Beverly, Massachusetts, his grandson Garrett Dillon of New Haven, Connecticut, his sister Lucia Baker of East Aurora, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laurence had been one of seven siblings in the Fattey family and was a graduate of East Aurora High School. He also had attended the University of Buffalo, and served 2 years in the U.S. Army having trained at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland in the early 1950s. Later in the decade Laurence began working for American Airlines as a teletype operator at the Buffalo International Airport. He married Jadwiga Swist in 1959, and they had 3 daughters, Rebecca, Therese, and Dawn, and moved to the Eggertsville section of Buffalo. After 1977 Larry transferred to Hartford, Connecticut to continue with the airline as a reservations agent in their downtown headquarters, retiring in 1993 after 35 years of service. Larry worked part-time for the Hartford Courant for several years as a bundler after retirement. He enjoyed walking all over the city, and reminiscing about his youth, often telling amusing tales. He was delighted to have two grandchildren.

Larry will be interred in East Aurora, New York, at a future time as social distancing will permit.

Larry will be missed by his daughters, his son-in-law, and his grandchildren. He is resting with God Almighty, whose mercy knows no bounds.
