Read (59), passed away at home after her fight with cancer, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Born in Omak, WA. On June 21, 1959 to Neal and Carole Miller. She married Steven Read on May 5, 1979. They were married 39 years and had 2 children. They made their home in the Omak and Okanogan area. Laura spent most of her time working in the medical field, starting out as a Nurses Assistant at a local nursing home, a paramedic with the local volunteer fire department, then lastly ending up as a LPN at Harmony House, only to stop doing that to take care of her parents up until their last days. Laura was also very passionate about being apart of the Okanogan Fire department and the Volunteer Okanogan Sheriff’s Department Explorer post. Laura also enjoyed Hunting and fishing. But her passion was doing tending to her flowers outside. Laura is survived by her husband Steven of Okanogan, Children: Tara (Orval) Norris of Okanogan, Brett (Florie) Read of Omak, 6 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren, 4 Siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents Neal and Carole Miller, 3 Aunts a Nephew and a Great Niece. Laura will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Okanogan.
