He was born in Oklahoma City, son of Kenneth Leon and Bessie Joan Glidewell. The family moved to Fort Worth in 1955.
Larry graduated from Haltom High School and earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of North Texas. He was a Christian and a devoted family man with a love of education, the cold mountain air, warm beaches, and traveling with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Becky, and four children: O.T. and his wife Elizabeth, Ross Wearden, Melissa, and Garrett; sister Shirley and her husband Jack and their children; and six grandchildren: Brayden, Mason, Austin, Gracie, Jordan, and Emma.
Larry, or "Pop" as he is known to his grandchildren, will always be remembered for his humor, generosity, and wisdom.

It was always so fun to come to Mimi and Pops house for Christmas or to go camping for the weekend. There was never a dull moment and no matter what you were talking about Pop ALWAYS had a story that would go along with the conversation. I learned so many things from him and I cherish every moment I had with him. I love you Pop. less
Pop loved being with his family more than anything else in the world. Here we're playing quarters with family and friends at OT and Liz's house. 12.23.18
That's Pop in front of Old Faithful at Yellowstone. We roadtripped there and to Glacier National Park. He drove the whole time because we were pulling the "Taj Mahal" trailer behind us. I was Director of Navigations.
