Kevin Derek Lake, passed away at home early Wednesday morning December 25, 2019 after a 4-month battle with cancer.

Kevin was born August 29, 1957 to Derek Leonard and Dolores Eileen (Zaskowski) Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Robert C. and Katie (Tewkesbury) Lake, Henry C. and Genevive A. (Malacina) Zaskowski and father-in-law Fred Dominguez.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his stepmom Sharon Lake, brothers Dennis Lake and David Lake, his 5 children Faith Lake, Jordan (Michelle) Lake, Logan Lake, Ryan (Lana) Lake and Rachel (Nesley) Michel, his 2 stepdaughters, Gabrielle Dominguez and Nicole (David) Scharer and 9 grandchildren; Breanne Karlson, Christina Krugger, Riley, Arianna, Zoey and Khloey Lake, Angela Dominguez and Aurora and Alexander Scharer.

Kevin worked in manufacturing his entire life specializing in tool making. He had many interests which included science, photography, nature (bicycling and walks), a love of music and he especially enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren. He was a 5-year member of St. Francis de Sales in Lake Zurich where he was Confirmation Instructor for 2 years as well as an usher. He especially loved ushering with his granddaughter Angela who was allowed to help “Papa” with this special assignment from a very young age.

The funeral mass will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sale, 135 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich, IL. 60047. Visitation will precede the funeral mass at the church from 10 a.m. to the time of the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
