Kathryn Marie Wherley Alarid is at peace in the arms of her loving Savior following her passing on Friday December 13th 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Katie was born on March 16, 1973 in Dover, Ohio. In 1997, Katie moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she met the love of her life, Drol Alarid. Drol and Katie celebrated their 21st year of marriage this year. Along with her devoted husband, Katie is survived by her greatest joy and treasures, her two children, Domion (21) and Tahlia (20).

Katie had her cosmetology license and spent several years as a pharmaceutical technician. Following many years of homeschooling her children, she went to college along side her children, and in 2019, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University. After graduating, she started working at Banner Thunderbird Hospital on the observation unit. Katie loved every moment of nursing and with her amazingly magnetic and radiant personality, she grew a family within her nursing school and hospital. 

Along with her husband and children, Katie is survived by her loving parents, Dr. Benjamin and Suzanne Wherley of New Philadelphia. She is also survived by her siblings; Robert (Renee) Wherley of Pasadena, CA, Dr. Andrew (Carla) Wherley of New Philadelphia, Amy (Terrell) Menefee of Russell, OH, Dr. Benjamin (Amy) Wherley of College Station, TX, and 11 nieces and nephews.

If you knew Katie, you knew that she radiated kindness, warmth and compassion wherever she went. To know her was to love her and she spread so much love and laughter to every person she crossed paths with. With her constant drive for knowledge, she pursued every activity she was involved in with so much passion and excitement. She had a laugh that was so contagious and a smile so beautiful and unforgettable that we know we will always carry her memory with us.
