She was born on February 15, 1949 in Midland, Michigan to David and Eleanore (King) Hignite. She met her future husband Michael Beeman her senior year in high school and they married on January 19, 1968. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. Kathy went to beauty school and worked as a hairstylist, most notibly at King’s Daughters where she made the residents feel beautiful. During her life, she worked at a vet clinic where she could be around animals everyday, something that made her happy. She also owned and operated a popcorn store in Midland with her husband and in-laws. Later, she was the office manager for Central Ceiling West in their Kalamazoo office. She loved to read, tend to her flowers and plants, and she felt a calling to help people. She had a big heart and when she became a grandmother, she spent most of her time with her grandchildren, showering them with love. Kathy leaves behind her loving husband, their two children, Brooke (Chad) Viola and Cameron (Tammy Shimmel) Beeman, three grandchildren, Ava and Eli Viola, and Paige Beeman, her three sisters, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews that were dear to her.
