Ms. Julie Dixon, beloved Mom and Grammy, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 65. Julie was born in Clinton, Illinois, on January 25, 1956 to Roy L. and Mary Lou Dixon. Julie was the youngest of three children, including sister Amy and brother Tom.
Julie graduated from Arizona State University with an elementary education degree. However, she spent most of her career in Dallas in the oil and gas industry, working as a lease and title analyst, described by her peers as one of the best. While Julie was known for her diligence and attention to detail, she was also known by her co-workers as being a warm and genuine friend, developing many deep friendships which continued beyond her career. She was also loved dearly by close friends from so many different seasons of her life. High school friends ("the Six"), Bible study friends and most recently, ladies of the FFF group, all cherished her as a fun and unassuming, warm, beautiful friend.
Julie’s faith in Christ gave her strength through trials, and allowed her to use her experiences to help other women who faced similar challenges. She was a student of God’s word, a prayer warrior, and found her deepest fulfillment in her relationship with Christ.
Julie was an incredible mother and Grammy to Laura and son-in-law Andy, Jim, Jake, Max, and Annie. They were the pride of her life, and their lives will forever be better because of her encouragement, her belief in them, and her fierce love.
Julie fulfilled a dream of hers by spending the years after retirement taking road trips and camping in an RV affectionately named “Aunt Peg.” She was brave, adventurous and loved experiencing the beauty of life. Her family is devastated to lose her, but we are at peace knowing that she is living out her ultimate adventure with her Lord Jesus Christ.
Julie is survived by her daughter Laura and son-in-law Andy, son Jim, sister Amy and brother-in-law Jon, and grandchildren, Jake, Max and Annie and nieces, Marisa, Kristin and Whitney.
