Joseph Wood McGee, age 65, of Hampstead, MD passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, in Edinburg, VA in an accident during one of his favorite pastimes, riding his motorcycle on a long weekend trip with friends.
Born September 17, 1957, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John and Frankie McGee. He was the dedicated and loving husband of late wife Melanie Ann Elliott. He recently retired after 37 years with Wilson T. Ballard Company, working on the survey team and putting away many company crab feasts. He cherished his time spent with family and life-long friends. He had a great love for classic rock music, Ravens football, grilling hella-good barbeque chicken, riding his road bike and motorcycle, and playing computer games, perhaps most notoriously the game WarLords.
Surviving Joe is his daughter Heather McGee, Son-in-law Rick Palumbo, and grandson Reid Palumbo of Hope Valley, RI, son Charlie Anderson and grandchildren Grayson, Riley, Hunter, Caden, and Hailie of Daphne, AL, step-daughters Madison Elliott of Half Moon Bay, CA and Rachel Elliott of San Diego, CA, and brothers Mark and Ken McGee.
The family will receive friends during a celebration of life from 12 - 3pm on Sunday, November 13 at Full Moon Pub and Grill (1100 Westminster Pike, Reisterstown, MD 21136). Joe’s ashes will be scattered near the Old Lighthouse Beach in the Outer Banks, NC where his parents' ashes were spread.
Flowers are welcome and memorial donations can also be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, American Cancer Society, or Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
