Joseph was born on February 9th, 1950 in Trenton New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Katherine Connell. At the age of 8, Joseph and his family moved to Hazlehurst Mississippi, where he remained until he left to attend college at Mississippi State University. Joseph obtained a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and worked for Chevron for 36 years. On December 2, 1989, he married Marianne Drewitz. They raised two daughters, Kaitlin and Kristen, and one son, Joey (son of Linda Kaplan).
Joseph was a loving and dedicated husband and father that seemed to have a solution for any problem that arose. He retired from Chevron in 2008 and never looked back, living the last 11 years in retirement to the fullest. He had a passion for fishing and camping (in recent years glamping) and spent much of his time during the spring and summer months at Twin lakes in Bridgeport, California with his loving wife, enjoying nature and living in the moment. Joseph also enjoyed playing his guitars, eating fine cuisine, watching Judge Judy and fluffing up their cat Marmalade.
Joseph was proceeded in life by his father Joseph, and his mother Mary Katharine. He is survived by his wife Marianne, his three children, Joey and his wife Jennifer, Kaitlin and Kristen, his brothers Mickey and Steve, sister Cacus, and grandchildren Peyton and Parker (daughters to Joey and Jennifer).
A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at Bruehole brewing in Benicia from 3PM to 6PM (http://www.brueholbrewing.com).
