In Loving Memory of John Michael Dutton

John Michael Dutton, born October 28, 1962, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 11, 2021.

John was the devoted, loving husband of Rebecca Dutton (Sessions), of 23 years and also survived by Jean Emmel (mother); brother-in-law, Timothy Sessions; sisters, Debbie Stewart and Jeanette Stein; nieces and nephews, Holly and Jeff Pierre, Matthew Stewart, Ryan Stewart, Jim Stewart, Nicholas Stein, Elise Stein, Manuel Robles; and many cousins, and step brothers and sisters.

Preceding him in death was his father, John M. Dutton; step father, Mulford Emmel; father- and mother-in-law, Ralph Langston Sessions and Elizabeth Sessions; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Sessions; brother-in-laws, James Stewart and Thomas Stein; nephew, Francis Fletcher.

John was born in Camden, NJ and grew up in Wenonah NJ. John attended Oak Valley, Pine Acres and Monongahela Schools as well as Overbrook High School where he played football and wrestled. As a young man in NJ, John was also involved in many body building competitions. John was a graduate of American Culinary Federation and became a certified executive chef, working at many resorts including Harrahs Marina, in Atlantic City, NJ. John also competed and showed off his talents at many food competitions at the resorts. John worked as a chef at LaQuinta Resort in Palm Springs, CA, The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, and Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he met his beloved wife Rebecca.

John was later the dedicated, passion-filled Food and Nutrition Director at Morrison Healthcare in Punta Gorda, Florida, Punta Gorda Bay Front Hospital. He was an accomplished, well-loved chef in the Florida area, loved by all. He resided in Venice, Florida with his wife Rebecca and their many tropical birds and precious dog Peaches of 16 years. He was a devoted member at Living Word Ministries church in Fort Meyers, FL and carried himself with unmatched compassion and kindness.

As said by John, "My passion is for food, culinary creations and cooking demonstrations...I love anything Florida. Love sunrises, sunsets, beaches, kayaking, Gulf of Mexico, tropical flowers, and anything Florida is my passion, and I enjoy sharing all of them."

John enjoyed many hobbies, such as taking Harley excursions, riding wave runners, taking walks on the beach with his wife and traveling.  He loved to go river tubing in the natural Florida springs with his wife as well. He was an avid scuba diver and a lover of many other outdoor adventures. He also had much expertise in food art and building ice sculptures. John found joy in making Youtube videos of his cooking expertise and had a passion for teaching others how to cook. John enjoyed life to the fullest and cared for and loved deeply all of those in his life.

At the conclusion of Living Word Ministries' 10am service on 12/19/21, surrounded by his church family, there will be a memorial to John (located at 2900 North Tamiami Trail, North Ft. Myers 33903). Pastor John Allison will be officiating, and all are welcome to come.
