John grew up in Youngstown and Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from high school in Toledo in 1973. After high school John went to trade school for Electronic Engineering Technology at ITT Technical Institute in Dayton, OH. Upon graduation from tech school in 1974, John took a leap of faith and moved from Ohio to the greater Denver area, for Colorado’s blue skies and skiing. In 1994 John was married to Dianne Walker (Frazee) and in 1998 they moved from the Roaring Fork Valley to Salida. John was a handyman and a home inspector in Chaffee County until 2018 when he retired and moved to Prescott, AZ. In 2021 John moved back to Colorado and resided in Greeley.

He was the best handyman, plumber, and home inspector around. He loved Colorado’s blue skies, skiing, hiking and rafting. He was the kindest man with the biggest heart. He would do anything for for his three girls, including driving 3 hours in a blizzard just to make the last 5 minutes of our childhood concerts. He had an impeccable sense of humor with a contagious laugh and smile. He had a strong work ethic and passed down these values to his daughters (we didn’t have a choice he always put us to work). He was always the first person on the dance floor and the last to leave it. My children will forever have his blue eyes and I’ll be forever thankful for this daily reminder of him. My heart aches to hear his laugh just one more time or have just one more hug from him. My dad was taken from this world too young but I’m thankful he didn’t suffer long. I’m thankful he is now surrounded by his parents and sister. You are very loved and missed dad, rest peacefully ol’ dog.
