Joe Earl Collins, age 83, passed away on December 3, 2020, at St John Hospital in Tulsa, OK.  

Born in Medon, TN to Ervin and Annie Collins and one of 12 children.  He attended school to the 3rd grade, as an adult, he attended night classes to learn to read. He retired from the City of Oklahoma City where he worked in the forestry department.  

Joe was a member of Jenks First Christian Church.  He enjoyed making wood pens and going to the Casino. He will be remembered for never meeting a stranger and his daily phone calls to check in with his friends and family. He always had a story to tell you. And would say you’ll never meet anyone like me. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Annie Collins, and siblings, Beverly Ann Collins, Ray Collins, Inez Young, Bill Collins, Harold Collins, and Tom Collins.

He is survived by his daughter Deborah Engles of Tulsa, OK. and son Michael Collins of Oklahoma City.  Two grandchildren Nicole Agent and Ryan Wylie.  Two great-granddaughters Joie Driver and Austyn Agent. Siblings: Herschel Collins, Robert “Buck” Collins, Betty Nell Jones, Marilyn Hopper, Elton “Coonie” Collins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
