Jim McKibben loved his family and his country. He is survived by his wife Gail of 40 years and two daughters, Stacey (& husband Carey) and Shanan. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren- Tyler, Payton, Avery, Aiden, Taryn, Wyatt and Eli as well as his great grand-daughter Lauren and another on the way. As much as he loved his family, he loved his friends that he considered his family. From Tahuya River Horse Camp, his WA State Ferry Friends while commuting to Seattle or those he drove on the desert with in Arizona- he loved them all.
Jim served in the US Navy for 20 years as a submariner. Retiring as a Senior Chief was something he had worked hard and it was a proud accomplishment.
He earned his Bachelors degree in computer science from Chapman University. This led to his second career as an IT specialist at Keyport and then Immunex later to become Amgen. He took pride in supporting the researchers that were finding new cures at the pharmaceutical company.
He retired for a second time. He and Gail spent time at the Ocean Shores beaches and deserts of Brenda AZ. He loved wood working, playing Mexican Train dominoes and riding ATV’s with Gail and trusty Ace by his side.
If you ever spent time with Jim, you might hear a story about Woodstock, the Summer of Love in Haight-Ashbury San Francisco, him working in traveling carnivals, racing stock cars, working his way up the ranks in the Navy or his beloved Seahawks Football team as a season ticket holder. Mostly, he would brag about his family.
We will miss him greatly and can feel all the love and support from everyone
