Jesse George was born April 14, 1935 to Hayden and Eilene George in Wewoka, Oklahoma. His faithful ministry to the Lord began in 1955 at Southwestern Seminary after which he went on to minister in the Bahamas and stateside churches in Alabama and South Texas. In the early 1960s he obeyed the Lord’s call and moved to Mexico to serve as a missionary and dedicated his life to building churches and reaching people for the kingdom of God. His ministry expanded beyond the founding of 20+ churches in central Mexico to include nursing home ministry in South Texas, humanitarian aid to his border ministries, and serving as Dean at Anchor Theological Seminary where he had previously obtained his Master's and Doctorate of Theology. After 50 years of full-time ministry he retired in his home in Edinburg due to health issues.
He continued to be an example to many throughout his life and loved God with all his heart. He was a sweet and loving husband and father always giving his best for those he so dearly loved. He had a great sense of humor with a witty joke and a song always at the tip of his tongue. He was a generous and giving man always placing other’s needs before his own.
Jesse is preceded in death by his mother Eilene, father Hayden, stepfather Yansey Posey, sister Myra, brother Hayden, sister Bonita, and sister Roxy. Jesse is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sara. His eight children, four from his first marriage to Zola; Joel, Rebecca, Maribeth, and Jonathan, and four from his second marriage; Luis Daniel, David, Isaiah, and Sarah Darlene, and their families.
A special thank you to the staff at Windsor Arborview Nursing Home who took great care of him in his last days. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who provided him care in the prior months and his devoted wife who stood by his side through the fifteen years of his ailing health.
