Jeffrey Gordon Weiler
He was one of the good ones, gone far too soon. Jeffrey Gordon Weiler, 49 of Lake Oswego, left this world and went to the joy and light of the Lord on April 18, 2022.
Jeff was born on September 14, 1972 in Portland, and is survived by his wife Brittany, his children Kiersten (17), Ashlyn (14), Joe (14) and Drew (14), parents Gordon and Ginger Weiler and his sister, Debbie (Dennis) Gorton and their daughters Hannah Fisher (Gabe) and Abby. Known affectionately as “J Dub”, he graduated from Cleveland High School in 1990 and attended University of Oregon where he studied finance and accounting. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity where he made friendships that he cherished throughout his life.
It was during the fall of 1991 at University of Oregon that Jeff met his best friend and soulmate, Brittany, and together they have shared a beautiful 26-year marriage. They had their first daughter in 2004 while living in Northwest Portland, then moved to Lake Oswego in 2006. The triplets were born in 2007 and the family began to build deep roots into the community. They became active leaders of sports teams, coaching at multiple grade levels, volunteered in schools and committees and enjoyed living, playing and entertaining on and around the lake.
In addition to having an enviable marriage and family-life, Jeff had an exceptional career as a wealth manager. He began his career at Dean Witter (Morgan Stanley) after graduation and worked there for 22 years before moving to UBS. His work with The Pacific Wealth Group was fulfilling, and he enjoyed his team, the challenges of the market, investment management and especially client interaction.
Jeff will be remembered for the immense impact he had in the Lake Oswego community as the President and coach of Lakeridge Youth Football and a mentor and father-figure to hundreds of youth who will forever be changed by having him in their life. He had a passion for youth athletics and supported many different sports over the years either through coaching, leadership or financial assistance. He was also an advocate of quality education and believed development of well-rounded kids was an essential part of any strong community.
He was a friend and mentor to many who crossed his path. Following his passing, friends consistently referred to him as their “steady” - the person they came to whenever they needed help or advice. Jeff was also a lover of good music, BBQs, Coors Light, lake cruising, date nights, cheering his kids on in any sporting endeavor, waterskiing at dawn and spending family time in Sunriver, Oregon.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday May 1st from 2:30-5:30pm at Rolling Hills Community Church, in Tualatin.
