Jan was a teacher to all who knew her. She is survived by her 3 children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Although Jan's family is unable to host an in-person memorial service, we wish to honor her legacy alongside her many friends and beloved students. As we celebrate the joy of Jan's life, and mourn the great loss of her passing, we share a few words from one of Jan's favorite poets, the great T.S. Eliot:

     We shall not cease from exploration
     And the end of all our exploring
     Will be to arrive where we started
     And know the place for the first time.
     Through the unknown, unremembered gate
     When the last of earth left to discover
     Is that which was the beginning;
     At the source of the longest river
     The voice of the hidden waterfall
